As I’m writing this blog, I’ve come to the realization that most of what I’vUbout has to do with the words. What people say, how it’s said, when it’s been said. I sometimes go about my day and say things in my head as if I’m writing them. Not sure if that makes sense.
I’ve always leaned more towards the English, Language Arts type of person rather than the Mathematical type. I guess I’m more about the words than the math or science of things. I wrote poetry when I was a kid and before you ask, no I do not have any of them to share with you. One of the inspirations for starting this blog in particular is Carrie Bradshaw. As I mentioned in my first post for The Beautiful Chaos, I had another blog but I took it too seriously. I let it try to move in a certain direction and in the end if let me nowhere. Now, however, I’m letting myself write about what I like. It’s as simple as that.
If you knew me back when, in the age of AOL and AIM, you’d know that I would rotate my away messages with quotes from Sex and The City. It was thing and I was reminded recently of my very well thought out list when I watch the first movie again. Carrie’s writing and how she would find herself in front of her laptop thinking, is how it is for me. I’m not a sex columnist they put next to the penial ads (#IYKYK) nor will I be a famous author but I do enjoy this hobby of mine and I hope to make it a full-time job like Carrie and so many other real-life people do one day.
And so here are some of my favorite Carrie Bradshaw quotes. The first 5 are my absolute favorite.
“I’m looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can’t-live-without-each-other love.”
"The most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous." (Fun Fact: “Fabulous” was the last word spoken in the series finale.)
"Some people are settling down, some people are settling, and some people refuse to settle for anything less than butterflies."
“It wasn’t logic, it was love.”
"Some love stories aren't epic novels. Some are short stories, but that doesn't make them any less filled with love."
"They say nothing lasts forever; dreams change, trends come and go, but friendships never go out of style."
"Maybe the past is like an anchor holding us back. Maybe, you have to let go of who you were to become who you will be."
“It wasn’t logic, it was love.”
“When men attempt bold gestures, generally it’s considered romantic. When women do it, it’s often considered desperate or psycho.”
“Maybe the best any of us can do is not to quit, play the hand we’ve been given, and accessorize the outfit we got.”
“Man may have discovered fire, but women discovered how to play with it."
"That’s the thing about needs. Sometimes when you get them met, you don’t need them anymore."
"I couldn't help but wonder..."
"Eventually all the pieces fall into place. Until then, laugh at the confusion, live for the moment, and know that everything happens for a reason."
