Nothing is as exciting or dangerous then being a fire jumper. Yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Brave men and women who jump out of perfectly good planes to put out fires. For Rowan Tripp, nothing is better than being a smoke jumper in Montana. It’s in her blood, her dad is a legend in the field. Rowan is looking forward to the new season but it’s a little bittersweet as she’s still morning the loss of her partner last season.
Enter the hot (no pun intended) rookie named Gulliver “Gull” Curry. He’s gorgeous, smart, and works at an arcade in the winter. Rowan has a strict rule about hooking up with smoke jumpers, she doesn't, but even she can’t refuse Gull's charm. And believe me, the banter between the two of them is amazing. The fun is short lived as a dark force hovers over the base and things start happening to Rowan. It’s clear that someone thinks someone is to blame for last season’s tragic accident. Rowan doesn’t want to complicate things with Gull, but she’ll have no choice. She needs someone she can trust to help figure out what's going on and right now he’s the only one can lean on.
Another great one and done story from one of my favorite author's. I give this book 4.5 out of 5 martinis.
